NCAAT Video Flashback: (8) NC State beats (1) Villanova in 2015 | Full Game

NC State is back to the NCAA Tournament and they’re in familiar territory.

This is the third time in 6 years that the Wolfpack has started off the Tournament in the  8 vs. 9 game. During the 2012-13 season, Gottfried’s group lost to Temple in that game, but two years later, they were back and beat LSU on a last second buzzer-beater by Beejay Anya.

That win sent NC State to the round of 32, where they met the #1 seed, Villanova.

As you remember, NC State pulled off a huge upset of Villanova in that game, and one of the big reasons why was the play of  Malik Abu and Lennard Freeman.  Both bigs tallied double-doubles in that win.

We know you didn’t forget about this game, but we wanted to let you watch it again as we prepare to kick off another tournament. (Video is at the top of the article).

Enjoy!

Note: Here is the box score from the Villanova win.
