NC State Women’s Basketball Defeats Elon 62-35, Advance to Round of 32

The 4th seeded NC State Women’s Basketball team beat the #13 seed Elon 62-35 today in Reynold’s Coliseum to advance to the Round of 32 in the NCAA Tournament.

The Wolfpack dominated Elon defensively, holding them to a measly 23.5% from the field. The also out-rebounded the Phoenix (42-36), and also won the turnover battle (13-17).

NC State had two players in double-figures. Kiara Leslie chipped in 13 (5-8 FG) and Aislinn Konig contributed 12 (5-9 FG). The Wolfpack shot 41.2% from three.

The Wolfpack (#21) are now 25-8, and will face the #5 seed Maryland (#16) on Sunday. This marks the first time the Lady Wolfpack have won at least one game in the NCAA Tournament in consecutive seasons since 1998-99.
