WATCH: NC State Wrestling shows out at NCAA Championship (Session 4 REEL)

Here are the recaps from the semi-finals (via NC State media)…

Tariq Wilson (25-9) vs. #1 seed Seth Gross (South Dakota St. – 27-1)

• Unseeded Tariq Wilson took #1 seed Gross of South Dakota to overtime with a takedown in the final seconds of regulation, but Gross got a takedown in extra time and converted it for the pin. Wilson stuck Gross with a pair of takedowns in the first period, and after a Gross four-point near fall in the second, Gross took a 7-4 lead into the third. Wilson scored three takedowns in the third, in the final 1:15 and the bout was tied 10-10 at the end of regulation. Gross’ pin came 16 seconds into extra time. Wilson returns to action in tonight’s first session, and will finish between third and sixth in his rookie campaign.

#1 seed Hayden Hidlay (25-0) vs. #5 seed Alec Pantaleo (Michigan – 20-5)

• #1 seed R-Fr. Hayden Hidlay became the first NC State freshman to advance to the NCAA Finals since 1980, as he scored a 10-2 major decision in the semifinals. Pantaleo scored the first takedown and was up 2-1 after the first period. After Hidlay escaped to start the second and even it at 2-2, Hidlay scored a takedown and put Pantaleo on his back for a four-point near fall and the 8-2 lead. He also rode Pantaleo the rest of the second period, and with a stall call in the third, the ride time point gave Hidlay the major decision. Hidlay will face defending national champion Jason Nolf of Penn State in tonight’s finals.

#4 seed Michael Macchiavello (20-3) vs. Kyle Conel (Kent State – 28-10)

• #4 seed R-Sr. Michael Macchiavello made it two Wolfpack wrestlers in tomorrow’s finals as he scored a pin to secure his trip. Conel was coming off of a pin of #1 seed Moore of Ohio State, and scored the bout’s first takedown 19 seconds in. After an escape, Macchiavello scored his own takedown and took a 3-2 lead into the second round. Macchiavello started down and increased his lead to 4-2, then scored a takedown and turned it into a pin 4:23 into the match. The pin was his first of the season. In the finals tonight, he will face ACC foe Jared Haught of Virginia Tech, who won both matchups this season between the two.
