NC State assistant AW Hamilton interviewed with EKU yesterday

We told you a few days ago that AW Hamilton was in the running for the Eastern Kentucky job, and now that is being confirmed.

MB: EKU search committee interviewed Purdue assistant Greg Gary today in Richmond … N.C. State assistant A.W. Hamilton will be in Richmond tomorrow for an interview .. these are the top two candidates … announcement should come by the end of the week

It is now known that he is one of the finalists for the job along with Purdue’s Greg Gary.

Hamilton is just one year removed from the high school ranks. He played for Keatts at Hargrave and later became an assistant before taking over the head coaching job when Keatts left for Louisville. Meanwhile, Greg Gary is in his 7th year at Purdue and has 2 years of head coaching experience at Centenary College.

Apparently, we’ll find out which one got it at the end of this week. As soon as we find out, so will you.
