NC State target Anferneee Simons enters the NBA Draft

NC State 2018 basketball target Anfernee Simons has officially declared for the 2018 NBA Draft.

Guard Anfernee Simons of IMG Academy is entering the NBA Draft, his agents Drew Rosenhaus and Bobby Petriella tell ESPN. Simons is No. 19 in ESPN’s most recent mock draft.

Simons took an official visit to NC State on February 10th.

Here is what Simons had to say to Rivals about his decision.

“After discussing the matter with my parents, I have decided to forego the opportunity to play in the NCAA and instead, enter the NBA Draft. I am very thankful for the support I received at IMG Academy and from the NCAA coaches who recruited me. I am ready and excited to pursue my dream of playing in the NBA,” Simons said. (Rivals)

As you can see above, Simons looks like a lock to be a 1st round pick. I can’t blame anyone from entering the draft if they look like a 1st round lock.

With the exodus of Omer Yurtseven, NC State now has one scholarship available. Trust me, Simons wasn’t the only prospect the NC State coaching staff is looking to add in 2018. Expect them to definitely fill that spot.
