WATCH: 6’9 NC State commit Ian Steere knocks down 7 straight 3s from DEEP
Ian Steere might be one of the most vicious dunkers in the 2018 class. He’s 6’9, has a 40 inch vertical and weighs in at 260lbs. So you can imagine most coaches telling him to get in the paint and stay in the paint. But, what if he could also step out and drain 3s at a consistent clip?
Well, he can.

Most analysts noted that Steere had good form on his jumper and the ability to knock the 15 footer, but none that we saw projected him as a guy who could consistently step out and hit the 3 ball.
We did, did note that the fact of him being a former Creighton commit hinted that some scouts may have seen potential in his ability to extend the defense with his jumper (Creighton almost always targets skilled bigs who can shoot).
We saw last year how the NC State offense was tough to stop when Yurtseven was able to pick and pop and knock down open 3s. It seems as if Steere saw the same thing and is adding a new wrinkle to his game.
