RALEIGH, N.C. – After turning in a pair of stellar starts to the 2018 season, fourth-ranked NC State baseball’s Brian Brown and Brett Kinneman have been named Midseason All-Americans by Perfect Game, announced Wednesday by the organization.

The Wolfpack is one of just six teams in the nation to have two players make the list and the only program from the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC).

Brown currently leads all NCAA Division I pitchers with a 0.41 earned run average (ERA), as he has allowed just two earned runs in 43.2 innings pitched. The Glenmoore, Pa., native also owns a perfect 4-0 record in seven starts this season.

He has struck out 41 batters to rank sixth in the NCAA with 261 career strikeouts. Additionally, Brown has started 52 career games on the mound, which leads the nation.

Kinneman turned in one of the nation’s hottest starts to the season, as he has collected National and ACC Player of Week twice this season in addition to being named the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) February Player of the Month.

He owns a .336 batting average complemented by 12 home runs, which ties as the fifth most in the NCAA and leads the conference. Hailing from York, Pa., his 12 homers this season is more than he hit in all of 2017 (10).

Kinneman has driven in 36 runs this season to rank 13th in the NCAA in RBI.

As a team, NC State leads the ACC with a .310 team batting average and a 2.98 team earned run average (ERA) on the mound.

The Wolfpack returns to action this weekend when it travels to Louisville. Friday’s game is set for 6 p.m. at Jim Patterson Stadium.
