Former NC State guard CJ Williams has been honored with the 2017-18 NBA G-League Jason Collier Sportsmanship Award. The award honors the player who “best represents the ideals of character and conduct on and off the court.”

This year Williams was a prominent figure in the Clippers activities in the community.

He participated in a Thanksgiving meal giveaway for 75 local families at the Sova Food Security Center in Ontario. During the NBA G League’s Season of Giving initiative, Williams and his teammates opened refurbished basketball courts and coached a basketball clinic for children at De Anza Park in Ontario. (NBA)

CJ played 16 games with the Agua Caliente Clippers of Ontario this season, averaging 16.5 points and 3.9 assists. Signed to a two-way contract, he also played 37 NBA games (18 starts) for the Los Angeles Clippers this year, averaging 5.2 points in an average of 18.3 minutes per game.

This award is the cherry on top for Williams, who was signed to a 3-year one-way contract with the Los Angeles Clippers earlier this week.
