Omer Yurtseven Transfers to Georgetown
Color me confused.
When former NC State big fella Omer Yurtseven asked for his release, I heard from sources that he was 99.5% going pro, and that this transfer thing was extremely unlikely.
Welp. Sometimes unlikely things happen.
Yurtseven is transferring to Georgetown.
I would like to thank Coach Keatts, the entire coaching staff at NC State and the fans of WPN a for all they have done for me, but at this point I have decided to look at other opportunities to further my academic and basketball career.

The Turkish center will sit out one year, and then have two years of remaining eligibility.
From my understanding, Yurt had a great relationship with NC State head coach Kevin Keatts.
I chalk this up to two things.
1) Keatts wants to fully implement his system next year. That system isn’t well-suited for a big who doesn’t run the court extremely well, and prefers to play with his back to the basket.
2) Yurtseven wants to play for Patrick Ewing, who will run a system that suits his game.
