NC State’s Will Wilson Named to Brooks Wallace Award Watch List
LUBBOCK, Texas – NC State baseball’s Will Wilson has been named to the Brooks Wallace Award Watch List, which is given annually to the nation’s top shortstop, as announced by the College Baseball Foundation.
A total of 53 of the most talented shortstops in the nation were named to the 2018 watch list. Wilson is the first NC State player on the watch list since 2014 when former Wolfpack standout Trea Turner garnered a spot on the list and eventually won the award that season.
The Kings Mountain, N.C., native owns a .307 batting average to go along with 10 home runs, tied for the second most on the team and fifth most in the conference. Wilson has collected 34 runs batted in (RBI) to rank among the ACC’s top 10.
NC State returns to action at home this weekend against sixth-ranked UNC-Chapel Hill. All three games of the series are SOLD OUT. Friday and Saturday’s games are set for 6:30 p.m., while Sunday’s first pitch is at 1 p.m.
