The Denver Broncos Draft Bradley Chubb at #5

NC State defensive end Bradley Chubb was just taken by the Denver Broncos with the 5th overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.

Here’s the moment that Chubb found out he was being taken by the Broncos:

He gets to play alongside All-Pro linebacker Von Miller, who Chubb said he has tried to pattern his game after. Opposing quarterbacks are going to have their hands full with this duo coming at them full speed.

Miller was excited at the prospect of playing with Chubb, seeing him as a combination of himself and Khalil Mack of the Raiders.

Check out Miller’s reaction when Chubb’s name was called:

To give a little context to the amount of money Chubb will be seeing on his paycheck, the #5 overall pick last year signed a $25.5 million contract, with $16.6 million of it guaranteed.

Chubb is 4th player in NC State history to be drafted in the Top-5, alongside Mario Williams (#1), Roman Gabriel (#2), and Philip Rivers (#4).

He is also the 16th Wolfpack player to be drafted in the first round. Check out the list below (via NC State Media Guide).

Should Chubb have gone earlier. I believe so. But I’m glad he didn’t. Denver is the perfect fit for Chubb.
