The 2018 NFL Draft was nothing short of historical for NC State.

The Wolfpack set a new school record with 7 players being drafted. The previous high was 6 draft picks, which NC State has done twice in the past (2012 & 2006).

DE Bradley Chubb – 1st Rd, 5th overall – Broncos
DT BJ Hill – 3rd Rd, 69th overall – Giants
DT Justin Jones – 3rd Rd, 84th overall – Chargers
RB Nyheim Hines – 4th Rd, 104th overall – Colts
DE Kentavius Street – 4th Rd, 128th overall – 49ers
OT Will Richardson – 4th Rd, 129th overall – Jaguars
RB Jaylen Samuels – 5th Rd, 165th overall – Steelers

NC State tied with Ohio St for the second most players drafted, with Alabama leading the charge with 12.

The Wolfpack had 4 players drafted in the Top 100, tying a school record.

Also, for the first time ever, NC State had 4 players drafted from one position group.

Six out of the seven Wolfpack players drafted came from the 2014 recruiting class, which was Dave Doeren’s 1st. Only one of those players was rated higher than a three-star prospect (Kentavius Street – 4-Stars). Hines came from the 2015 recruiting class, and was also a 4-Star prospect. The fact that 5 of NC State’s 7 players drafted were 3-Star prospects, shows that Doeren and his staff know how to develop talent.
