NC State’s Stephen Franken Named Men’s Golf ACC Player of the Year

NC State Junior Stephen Franken has been named the Men’s Golf ACC Player of the Year.

Here’s a rundown of Franken’s highlights in 2018:

  • Semifinalist for the Jack Nicklaus Player of the Year award
  • 70.27 round average is 2nd in NC State history.
  • His round of 62 in Puerto Rico in February tied a school record.
  • 7 Top-10 finishes
  • 5 Top-5 finishes
  • 21 of his 30 rounds this year at par or better.
  • Top-ranked ACC golfer on both Golfstat (13) and Golfweek (17)
  • Coaches Selection to be on Team USA for the Arnold Palmer Cup in July.
  • 4th NC State Player to win ACC Men’s Golfer of the Year award (Tim Clark (1997), Matt Hill (2009), and Albin Choi (2013)).
