Carlos Rodon Struck in the Forehead By Liner

Former NC State All-American pitcher Carlos Rodon was dealing in his 2nd rehab start last night for the Charlotte Knights (AAA), until he was dealt a line drive to the forehead.

Fortunately, Rodon seemed unphased, but was removed after 2.2 innings for precautionary reasons. I had to watch the above video three times before I realized that the third baseman caught the ball after it deflected off Rodon’s head all the way over toward foul territory.

Prior to being removed from the game, Rodon allowed only one hit, no runs, striking out 6 in 2.2innings.
