4-Star DE Derrick McLendon Taking Official Visit to NC State Thursday

4-Star 2019 defensive end Derrick McLendon (6’4”/228) will be taking an Official Visit to NC State this Thursday.

McLendon is ranked as the #17 weak side defensive end in the 2019 claaa by Rivals. He picked up an offer from NC State on January 23rd, and took an unofficial visit to Raleigh back in February.

His offer sheet is impressive, holding offers from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, LSU, Arkansas, Tennessee, Louisville, Ole Moss, Nebraska, UNC, Georgia Tech, Ohio St, South Carolina, Virginia Tech and others.

Alabama, Florida and Georgia have all been seen as leaders for McLendon, but it’s impressive that NC State is getting his 1st Official Visit (and you only get 5). The Wolfpack continues to recruit the state of Georgia well.
