Nyheim Hines Getting Reps as Starting Kick Returner

Former NC State running back and return specialist, Nyheim Hines, has been serving as the starting kick returner for the Indianapolis Colts in OTA’s.

The Colts ranked 25th in the league with 590 yards of kick return yardage in 2017, while ranking 18th in the league with 21.1 yards per kick return. Losing Quan Bray – who served as the main kick returner a year ago – via free agency, Hines has little in his path to taking over the job. (ROTO)

But as all Wolfpack fans know, Hines is much more than a return man. Matt Cashore, of USAToday, said that there was no player talked about during OTA’s than Hines.

They have been using him all over the field. He’s taken reps in the backfield and out in the slot as a receiver.

“Speaking of Hines, the rookie running back was all over the place for the Colts’ offense, too. Just like during rookie minicamp, Hines was in possession of the ball perhaps more than any other player, and he was also lined up as a wide receiver out wide at times, showing off his versatility.” (SB)
