Former NC State All-American pitcher Carlos Rodon picked up his first win of the 2018 season today. In fact, he picked up his first win in the past 10 months, leading the White Sox to a 10-3 victory over the Athletics.

After missing the first two months of the season recovering from shoulder surgery, Rodon returned on June 9th, and his first three 3 starts were mediocre.

Today’s start was far from mediocre. It was excellent.

Rodon pitched 8 innings (tied a career high), with 69 of the 99 pitches going for strikes. He only gave up 2 earned runs, struck out 3, and didn’t allow a walk.

Through 4 games, Rodon has a 1-2 record, with a 3.70 ERA, striking out 19 in 24 innings pitched.
