NC State’s Will Wilson Makes Final Roster of USA Baseball Collegiate National Team

NC State Sophomore Shortstop Will Wilson has made the Final 26-man roster of USA Baseball Collegiate National Team. There were only 6 spots remaining, and NC State’s Will Wilson and Freshman Catcher Patrick Bailey were both in hunt for one of them. After 1 game against the CPL Select, and 4 against Chinese Taipei, the final roster cuts have been made, and the team has been solidified. Wilson has been playing Second Base thus far for Team USA.

USA Baseball Collegiate Team will face-off in two 5-game friendship series’ against Japan and Cuba over the next two weeks. It will be the 42nd annual series against Japan (July 3-8), and the 7th annual against Cuba (July 10-14). It’s worth noting that Wilson is one of only three players representing the ACC, and he is also one of only two players who call North Carolina their home state.

Game 1 vs. Japan will be tonight at 7:05pm in Charlotte in BB&T Stadium.
