Senior defensive lineman, Darian Roseboro, talked after day 1 of fall camp about filling shoes on the defensive line and why leaving his own legacy and setting a new standard is his focus for this season. Above is the full interview and below is the bulleted highlights:

  • The young guys on the D-line love to work. They bought in. The blueprint is there. They take advantage of their opportunity.
  • The difference in this group is effort. It’s what is emphasized. No plays off. Everyone fights.
  • Filling Chubb’s shoes isn’t what he’s trying to do. Just trying to leave own legacy, be the best player possible.
  • Wasn’t ready for NFL. Wants to be consistent pass rusher. Wants to be a guy that plays every down and slot in across the line. Needs to know every position on the DL.
  • On Replacing the guys who left: Everyone is different. If you look at the NFL, every guy is bringing something different to the table.
  • Tell younger guys to just be themselves. Don’t try to be anyone else. Be the best version of yourself. Guys are bought in. Not looking at last year’s team. Looking at this year’s team.
  • Have momentum going into this season. Seniors looking to leave it better than when they got here.
  • Standard has been set, but time to set a new one. Be a blue-collar group that will work and hit you in the mouth.
  • People on the outside haven’t seen how hard we’ve worked. Guys who came and worked this summer and sacrificed, everyone is bought in and brothers.
