Wide Receiver Jakobi Meyers talked after Day 4 of NC State’s 2018 Fall Camp. Here’s what he had to say in BULLETED form.

  • The first couple of games are going to be hot. It’s really hot out here right now, and I’m just trying to be mentally tough every day.
  • Feels like he’s gotten a lot better. It’s about being fully committed to it (transitioning from quarterback to wide receiver). Once he was fully committed, he got a lot better.
  • Sophomore Emeka Emezie, Redshirt Sophomore CJ Riley and Redshirt Freshman Thayer Thomas are pushing Kelvin Harmon, Stephen Louis and Meyers to be better. There is a lot of competition in the wide receiver room. They are doing a good job keeping up. They are pushing the leaders.
  • Freshman cornerback Tanner Ingle has impressed him. First day he got to Meyers a little bit. He did pretty good today too. Meyers thinks he won the second time around.
  • Successful being a slot receiver, because he understands the gaps in the defense. Understands coverages. Knows when to slow it down, or when to pick it up. Helps him understand what the quarterback is thinking, where he wants him to break it down, so he can fit it in there.
  • Had a couple of blocking mistakes today. Want to go in and see what he did wrong, and fix them tomorrow.
