Rodon continues dominance with 8 innings of shutout ball

Former Wolfpack lefty Carlos Rodon is healthy again, and just like before the injury, he’s trending towards ace-status.

Rodon came into Friday’s game as the hottest pitcher in the MLB and he didn’t miss a beat.

Another 8 innings of shutout ball, adding in 5 Ks and only letting up 4 hits. And while he didn’t get the win (thanks to the anemic White Sox offense), he did set the stage for his team to come away with a win on a walk-off homer in the 9th.

What is scary is to think that Rodon isn’t a finished product quite yet. Listen to this interview where he explains that he has his confidence, but he doesn’t quite have his best stuff right now.

Hard to believe he doesn’t feel like he’s pitching at his highest level, but then again, Rodon was projected as an elite level starter when drafted out of NC State a few years ago.
