Former NC State All-American pitcher Carlos Rodon picked up the win yesterday in a 7-3 White Sox victory over the Twins, giving up 2 earned runs in 6 innings pitched, striking out 5.

“After that [first inning], it seemed like a pretty decent start,” Rodon said. “Had some good at-bats, bit on some good sliders. Seemed like I got 0-2 and they’d work the count to full. I’d get an out out of it but still making my pitch count go up. It was a battle today. Like I always say, give the team a chance to win, and came out with a win today. (MLB)

This was Rodon’s 8th straight quality start in a row, dating back to July 5th.

Rodon’s stats since the quality start streak began:

56 2/3 IP, 30 H, 11 ER, 23 BB, 47 K, 3 HR. That’s a 1.75 ERA

Also worth noting, Rodon hasn’t taken a loss since June 30th. He continues to be one of the hottest pitchers in baseball over the past two months.
