Senior WR  Stephen Louis met with the media after practice yesterday to talk about his role as a team captain, his leadership style and the upcoming game vs JMU. The full interview is above and the bulleted highlights are below.

  • Prepping for an opponent a lot different than going against own guys in practice. Excited to learn everything about JMU, get to know players and tendencies
  • Coach hasn’t really warned us about JMU. You just want to go in and win every game. Team knows what kind of team they are. Coach doesn’t have to say it. Going to prepare for them like any other team.
  • Honored to be named a captain. Honored to be named alongside Pratt, Bradbury, Finley. All captains have been through a lot. Have all been tested.
  • Being named captain won’t change leadership style. Will continue to lead by example. Not going to yell or be a ‘rah-rah’ type guy. Going to try to do the right thing, do assignment and have younger guys follow.
  • Will be vocal if need be, but won’t yell at anyone. Will take a guy to the side and explain.
  • Had a good camp. Everything was smooth. Made it out with no injuries. Today was good first day of game prep.
