NC State’s 2018 NFL Preseason Week 3 Report: 8/24/18

Week 3 of the 2018 NFL Preseason technically kicked off Thursday night with the Browns beating the Eagles 5-0, but it was in full swing last night. Here’s a breakdown of how the 11 former NC State players fared on Thursday and last night.

Broncos 29 Redskins 17

Linebacker Bradley Chubb (Rookie) picked up 4 tackles and half a sack for the Broncos in his 3rd consecutive start of the 2018 preseason. He also had 2 QB Hits and 1 Pass Defended.

Linebacker Jerod Fernandez (Rookie) played as a reserve for the Redskins, but didn’t record any stats. He had 6 tackles in each of the last two preseason games.

Vikings 21 Seahawks 20

Quarterback Russell Wilson (7th Season) was 11 of 21 for 118 yards, with no touchdowns, and no interceptions.

Offensive Guard JR Sweezy (6th Season) didn’t play last night for the Seahawks, but did put back on the pads in practice this week. He has been moved to Left Guard to compete with Ethan Pocic.

Cornerback Dontae Johnson (4th Season) recorded one tackle for the Seahawks, getting his first start at right corner this preseason.

Cornerback Jack Tocho (2nd Season) didn’t play for the Vikings due to injury.

Browns 5 Eagles 0

Running Back Matt Dayes (2nd Season) rushed the ball 1 time for 0 yards for the Browns.

Panthers 25 Patriots 14

Offensive Guard Joe Thuney (3rd Season) started once again for the Patriots. He has started every game for the Patriots since he joined the team as a Rookie. In fact, he’s taken 99% of the reps in games, and in practice.

Giants 22 Jets 16

Cornerback Juston Burris (3rd Season) had two tackles for the Jets, but unfortunately he gave up a 47-yard reception on a 3rd and 18 out of the Giants end zone.

Defensive End BJ Hill (Rookie) started for the 2nd consecutive week, and recorded a pass deflection.

Raiders 13 Packers 6

Safety Josh Jones (2nd Season) had 4 tackles for the Packers.
