Russell Wilson is about to be first in NC State history to get on a Wheaties Box

Former NC State QB, and current star of the Seahawks, is about to be the next face of Wheaties!

Depending on your age, you might understand that this is a pretty awesome achievement. If you’re 30 or older then you’ll remember your childhood, where a guy getting on the Wheaties box was basically saying they had reached the pinnacle of their sport.

Kids would grow up hoping to one day grace that box. PackInsider.com’s Matthew Bradham even had a Wheaties box shrine of his favorite players in his bedroom when he was a middle-schooler (and high-schooler!)

For today’s kids, I’m not sure this has the cultural significance it once did, but nonetheless, this is pretty cool to see.

As far as we can tell, Wilson will become the first NC State athlete to ever make it onto a Wheaties box. So, if you’re a collector, make sure you’re checking the aisles of your local grocery store so you can pick up a piece of NC State history.
