on

Tomorrow NC State will kickoff against Georgia State in the second game of the 2018 season, but before they take the field, here’s a look at which NC State players could make moves in the NC State record book.

Ryan Finley

Career Passing Yards – Ryan Finley is 526 yards away from passing Mike Glennon for 4th place in NC State history in career passing yards. After West Virginia, expect Finley to usurp Glennon.

1) Philip Rivers – 13,484
2) Jamie Barnette – 9,461
3) Russell Wilson – 8,545
4) Mike Glennon – 7,411
5) Ryan Finley – 6,886

Career Passing Touchdowns – Finley is 2 touchdowns away from passing Terry Harvey for 6th place all-time in career passing touchdowns. If last week was a preview of this year, expect him to move on up this week.

1. Philip Rivers – 95
2. Russell Wilson – 76
3. Mike Glennon – 63
4. Jamie Barnette – 59
5. Jacoby Brissett – 43
6. Terry Harvey – 38
7. Ryan Finley – 37

Total Offense – Finley is 2,448 yards away from passing Russell Wilson in career yards of total offense, but by seasons end, I expect him to rank 2nd all-time behind Philip Rivers.

1. Philip Rivers – 13,582
2. Jamie Barnette – 9,638
3. Russell Wilson – 9,628
4. Ryan Finley – 7,180

Passing Completions – Finley is 55 completions from passing Jamie Barnette for 4th all-time in school history. After West Virginia, I expect Finley to move on up.
1. Philip Rivers – 1,087
2. Russell Wilson – 682
3. Mike Glennon – 646
4. Jamie Barnette – 637
5. Ryan Finley – 583

300-Yard Passing Games – If Finely can go for over 300 yards for the second consecutive week, he will tie Wilson for the 2nd most 300-yard games in a career.
1) Philip Rivers – 19
2) Russell Wilson – 12
3) Ryan Finley – 11
4) Mike Glennon – 8
5) Jamie Barnette – 5

Completion Percentage – Finley’s completion percentage against James Madison was 67%, and he wasn’t exactly sharp in my opinion. Finely has a decent shot at being the most accurate passer in NC State history by seasons end.
1) Philip Rivers – 63.6%
2) Ryan Finley – 63.1%
3) Mike Glennon – 60.4%
4) Terry Jordan – 60.1%
5) Jacoby Brissett – 59.9%

Yards Per Play
1. Philip Rivers – 6.92
2. Ryan Finley – 6.70
3. Jacoby Brissett – 6.35
4. Russell Wilson – 6.24
5. Mike Glennon – 6.23

Interception Avoidance
1. Jacoby Brissett – 1.44
2. Ryan Finley – 1.52
3. Philip Rivers – 1.99
4. Russell Wilson – 2.20
5. Mike Glennon – 2.90

Passing Efficiency
1. Philip Rivers – 144.16
2. Ryan Finley – 135.88
3. Russell Wilson – 135.47
4. Jacoby Brissett – 133.39
5. Dave Buckey – 133.12

Receivers

100-Yard Receiving Games – Harmon was targeted 10 times last week against James Madison, but he only had 4 catches for 33 yards. I expect Harmon to pick up another 100-yard performance against Georgia State, which would bring him into a tie with Eddie Goines for the 4th most all-time. Louis is going to play this week, so he could tie Owen Spencer for 7th all-time. Jakobi Meyers showed he is more than capable of going over the century mark, but it is unknown if he will play tomorrow or not. Truthfully, anyone of these three guys could go over 100 yards each week, if not more than one of them.

1. Jerricho Cotchery – 15
2. Torry Holt – 14
2. Koren Robinson – 14
4. Eddie Goines – 8
5. Kelvin Harmon – 7
6. Nas Worthen – 6
7. Owen Spencer – 5
8. Stephen Louis – 4
8. Jakobi Meyers – 4

Career Receptions – Harmon is 2 receptions away from passing Don Buckey in 17th place all-time. Harmon averaged 5.3 receptions per game last season, and finished with 69 for the year. If he were to match his 2017 numbers, he would finish his Junior season 4th all-time in career receptions.

1) Jaylen Samuels – 202
2) Jerricho Cothcery – 200
3) Torry Holt – 191
4) Eddie Goines – 147
5) Bryan Peterson – 139
6) Jarvis Williams – 133
7) Nasrallah Worden – 131
8) Owen Spencer – 126
8) George Bryan – 126
10) Tramain Hall – 125
11) Chris Coleman – 122
12) Mike Quick – 116
13) Ray Robinson – 113
14) Haywood Jeffires – 111
15) Koren Robinson – 110
16) Jimmy Grissett – 107
17) Don Buckey – 102
18) Kelvin Harmon – 100

Career Receiving Yards – Harmon is 87 receiving yards away from passing Quinton Payton for 15th all-time, and Stephen Louis is 121 yards from passing TJ Graham for 19th all-time. If Harmon were to just match his 2017 numbers (1,017 yards), he would finish his Junior season ranked 3rd all-time. If Louis matches his 2017 numbers (687 yards), he would finish his career ranked 6th all-time.

1) Torry Holt – 3,379
2) Jerricho Cotchery – 3,119
3) Owen Spencer – 2,441
4) Eddie Goines – 2,351
5) Nasrallah Worthen – 2,247
6) Mike Quick – 1,934
7) TJ Williams – 1,916
8) Koren Robinson – 1,914
9) Chris Coleman – 1,909
10) Bryan Peterson, 1,894
11) Jaylen Samuels – 1,855
12) Jarvis Williams – 1,764
13) Don Buckey – 1,734
14) Haywood Jeffires – 1,733
15) Quinton Payton – 1,598
16) Kelvin Harmon – 1,512
17) Jimmy Grissett – 1,504
18) Tramain Hall – 1,466
19) TJ Graham – 1,453
20) Stephen Louis – 1,333
