The 6th ranked NC State Men’s Soccer Team defeated Quinnipiac (0-4-1) yesterday 1-0 to improve to 5-1.

The match was scoreless at the half, but Junior Gabriel Machado scored the game-winning goal in the 56th minute off of an assist from Freshman Ivy Brisma and Caleb Martinez. The goal was Machado’s third of the season, and he leads the Wolfpack in goals and points (7). All 2 of Machado’s goals have been game winners. He also earned National Player of the Week Honors earlier this month.

NC State was once again without Sophomore standout Manny Perez, who was called up to the U.S. U-20 National Team.

Sophomore Goal Keeper Leon Krapf picked up his 3rd shut out of the season (2 saves), and the 10th of his career (24 matches).

The Wolfpack dominated Quinnipiac in shots (17/6), shots on goal (8/2), and corner kicks (9/2).

NC State’s next match is at home next Thursday, September 18th, against Stetson.
