In case you missed it, this past Sunday the NC State Women’s Soccer (6-1-1) team lost their first match of the season, falling to Nebraska 0-1 at home. The Wolfpack entered the match ranked 11th nationally.

The Cornhuskers (4-3-1) led 1-0 at the half, scoring in the 39th minute. Nebraska picked up another goal in the 47th minute, gaining a 2-goal advantage. Junior Tziarra King scored in the 64th minute off of an assist from Junior Kia Rankin to make things interesting, but Nebraska held on.

King’s six goals are tied for the ACC lead. Rankin’s 3 assists are tied for the team lead.

Honestly, NC State let this one slip out of their hands. They had more shots (15/7), shots on goal (7/5) and corner kicks (7/5).

The loss snapped a 14-game winning streak at home, and a 9-game undefeated streak.

The Wolfpack will close out their non-conference slate today at 1pm, as they play UNC-Greensoboro on the road.
