In case you missed it, the #17 NC State Women’s Soccer team (7-1-1) went on the road and defeated UNC-Greensboro (5-2-1) 1-0 on Wednesday to close out their Non-Conference schedule. Junior Kia Rankin scored the lone goal off an assist from Juniors Krissi Schuster and Paige Griffiths.

NC State dominated the match more than the score shows. The Wolfpack had more shots (17/5), shots on goal (5/3) and cornerbacks (4/1). Junior Tziarra King had 4 shots (1 on goal) and Rankin had 3 shots (1 on goal).

Senior Goal Keeper Sydney Wootten picked up her 4th shutout of the season, and the 21st of her career. She currently ranks 4th in school history, and is only 2 shutouts away from 3rd place. Wootten had two saves against UNCG.

The Wolfpack finished their non-conference slate with 7 wins, only one loss, and zero losses on the road.

Through 9 games, Tziarra King leads the ACC in shots per game (4.56), and ranks 2nd in goals per game (.667), 4th in points per game (1.67) and 10th in assists per game (.333). Kia Rankin ranks 6th in shots per game (3.29), and 7th in points per game (1.29). She also has 2 game-winning goals, which is tied for the ACC lead.

The Wolfpack will open their ACC slate at home next Thursday night against Wake Forest at 7pm.
