The #18 NC State Men’s Soccer team defeated #14 Virginia Tech 1-0 last night in their ACC Opener at home.

The match was scoreless at the half, but Senior Forward Tanner Roberts scored his first goal of the season at the 55-minute mark. It was only Roberts second match of the season, after battling an injury.

The Wolfpack now have two Top-15 victories in their first 7 matches, and beat the Hokies for the first time since 2013.

Sophomore Goal Keeper Leon Krapf picked up his 4th shutout of the season (2nd straight), and the 11th of his career (25 matches). He only had to make 3 saves, because the Wolfpack only allowed 3 shots on goal. In comparison, NC State had 3 shots on goal.

Sophomore sensation Manny Perez was also back with the Pack after being called up to the US U-20 National Team.

NC State’s next match is on the road against Pitt.
