#16 NC State Women’s Soccer Crushes Pitt 6-0 for 1st ACC Win

The #16 NC State Women’s Soccer team (8-2-1) picked up their 1st ACC win of the 2018 season on Sunday, crushing Pitt (4-5-1) 6-0.

Junior Ricci Walkling, Junior Michaella Van Maanen and Senior Hannah Keogh all scored their 1st goals of the season. Van Maanen and Walkling made a game of it, both scoring twice. Freshman Anna Toohey scored her 3rd goal of the season.

NC State had 10 shots on goal to Pitts’ 4.

The shutout was Senior Goal Keepet Sydney Wooten’s 5th of the season, and the 22nd of her career. She is one shutout away from moving into 3rd place all-time in NC State history.

The six goals was the most since 2016, and the 6-Goal margin of victory was the most since 2010.

The Wolfpack’s next match is at home against #12 Duke on Thursday night at 7pm.
