Kevin Keatts may be busy prepping his Wolfpack squad for the 2018-19 season, but that isn’t stopping him from keeping his foot on the gas on the recruiting trail.

Yesterday, Keatts and staff offered 2021 prospect Terquavion Smith out of Farmville, NC.

While this kid is still a ways away in terms of making any sort of commitment, these are the type of offers that you can learn a lot from.

For one, this is Smith’s first D1 offer. What that tells you is that Keatts is doing his homework. He’s using every advantage he can as a head coach, including taking risks by being the first to offer. This shows that he has a ton of confidence in his ability to evaluate talent.

This also gives you an idea of what Keatts is looking for in the 2021 class.

The 6’2 Smith is a scoring guard, who as a freshman, scored 19.4 points per game.

PrepHoops.com did a write up on him last year. Here is what he had to say…

“The keys to my game is my three-point shot and my mid-range game. I need to get stronger but there is a lot I can improve on,” Smith said. (PrepHoops)

And when they asked him about his dream schools…

“I would hope to hear from NC State, UCLA or Duke one day.” Smith said. (PrepHoops)
