Redshirt Freshman running back Nakia Robinson announced on his Twitter account today that he is transferring from NC State.

Robinson redshirted last year, and saw action in 4 games this season. He didn’t play in the season opener, but played 4 snaps against Georgia State, rushing for 8 yards on 3 carries. Robinson played only on special teams the past three games.

NC State now has 5 scholarship running backs on the roster for the remainder of the 2018 season: SR Reggie Gallaspy, SR Brady Bodine, JR Damontay Rhem, FR Ricky Person and FR Trent Pennix.

With the loss of Robinson, the Wolfpack will return 3 scholarship running backs from this team in 2019 (Person, Pennix, & Rhem), and they will be joined by incoming freshman Jamious Griffin (3-Stars) and Zonnovan Knight (3-Stars), as long as they stay true to their verbal commits.

Robinson was 3-star prospect out of Miami that chose to join the Wolfpack’s 2017 recruiting class over offers from FAU, FIU, App State, Idaho, Navy, Southern Miss and Utah State.
