According to Luke DeCock of the News & Observer, the Carolina Hurricane’s playing an NFL hockey game outside in Carter-Finley Stadium, is getting a little closer to being a reality.

Tom Dundon, the owner of the Hurricane’s, shard this week that the NHL’s event team made a trip to Raleigh to check out Carter-Finley Stadium in September. He also said that he understands that his team doesn’t have the clout to play in the annual NHL Winter Classic, but wants to do this for the fans more than anything else.

While this is far from a done deal, DeCock thinks their could reasonably be an NHL Hockey game in Carter-Finley Stadium, the home of the NC State Wolfpack by January or February of 2020.

Check out DeCock’s full article here, which includes direct quotes from Dundon on his heart behind making this a reality, and why Carter-Finley is a good fit.
