ESPN has updated their FPI (Football Power Index) Rankings after Week 7, and NC State sits at #25.

According to their mathematical formula, the Wolfpack is the 18th most efficient team in the land.

NC State’s offensive attack has been potent, and their calculations confirm as much. The Wolfpack are the 8th most efficient offense in college football.

NC State ranks 43rd in Defensive Efficiency.

According to ESPN’s FPI calculations, NC State only has a 10.7% chance of beating Clemson (so you’re telling me there’s a chance…), but they project them to win the rest of their regular season games, finishing with 10. If you’ll notice below, ESPN hasn’t added the East Carolina game on December 1st to the schedule, where the Wolfpack will 100% be the favorite. According to the FPI projections, NC State will finish with 11 regular season wins, even if they lose to Clemson, which would be the most regular season wins in school history. The 2002 squad holds the current school record of 10 regular season victories.
