NC State in the NFL 2018 Week 6 Recap

Week 6 of the 2018 NFL season is in the bag, and 14 former NC State players were active. Here’s a breakdown of their performances.

Rookie Linebacker Bradley Chubb (Starter) had his best game of his young career on Sunday, recording 3 sacks in the Broncos’ 20-23 loss to the Rams. He had a total of 5 tackles, which is also a new high for Chubb. The three sacks tied a Broncos’ rookie single-game record. Chubb played 72% of the Broncos defensive snaps.

Quarterback Russell Wilson (Starter) was extremely sharp on Sunday, completing 17 of his 23 passes for 222 yards and 3 touchdowns (1 interception) in the Seahawks 27-3 blowout against the Raiders. His QB Rating was 125.4.

Quarterback Philip Rivers (Starter) was 11 of 20 for 207 yards with 2 touchdowns (1 interception) in the Chargers 38-14 victory over the Browns. His QB Rating was 103.5 on the day.

Place Kicker Stephen Haushcka (Starter) connected on both of his field goal attempts (26 and 52) and his one extra point attempt in the Bills 13-20 loss to the Texans.

Rookie (technically) David Grinnage was called up from the practice squad last week, and he had 1 reception for 7 yards in his first career NFL game this past Sunday in the Jaguars 7-40 loss to the Cowboys. He played 9 offensive snaps.

Marlon Mack returned to the Colts lineup, so Rookie Running Back Nyheim Hines returned to a reserve role in Indianaoplis’ 34-42 loss to the Colts. He had 3 carries for 14 yards and 2 receptions (3 targets) for 21 yards.

Rookie Defensive Tackle BJ Hill had 2 tackles in the Giants 13-34 loss to the Eagles on Thursday night football. Hill played 32 snaps on defense (45%).

Left Guard Joe Thuney (Starter) played every offensive snap in the Patriots 43-40 victory over the Chiefs.

Left Guard JR Sweezy (Starter) played every offensive snap in the Seahawks 27-3 victory over the Raiders.

Left Guard Ted Larsen (Starter) started and played every offensive snap in the Dolphins 31-28 victory over the Bears.

Rookie Defensive Tackle Justin Jones played 21 snaps (28%) in the Chargers 38-14 victory over the Browns, but didn’t record any stats.

Cornerback Juston Burris played strictly on special teams once again for the Jets (5 snaps) in their 42-34 victory over the Colts.

Running Back Jaylen Samuels played strictly on special teams in the Steelers 28-21 victory over the Bengals.

Safety Josh Jones played in a reserve role for the Packers last night in their 33-30 victory over the 49ers, but didn’t record any stats.
