NC State’s Kevin Keatts Gives Timetable for Braxton Beverly’s Return

News broke two days ago that NC State Sophomore Point Guard Braxton Beverly broke his hand last Friday, and Wolfpack head coach Kevin Keatts shed some light today at ACC Media Day on when we could expect to see him again.

“He had successful surgery yesterday, and had a great conversation with him after the surgery, talked to the surgeon. Told everything went very well. We’re very hopeful that mid-way through non-conference we’ll get him back. But it certainly changes our team a little bit. At the time he was playing great basketball, he was shooting the ball very well. Certainly he’s a guy that we have on our roster that can stretch the defense and open up driving lanes for us, and you know, with that being said, we’ve got to have some other guys that step up and play well in his absence.” (Link)

He also said elsewhere today that he was expected to miss a month, if not more.

NC State will play 13 non-conference games this season. If he missed 6 of those games, he would return for the Wisconsin game on November 27th, which would be roughly one month out.
