NC State enters tomorrow nights game versus Wake Forest with a 5-0 record at home this season.

After Wake Forest, the Wolfpack will close out the regular season with one last home game against East Carolina on December 1st.

According to ESPN’s FPI projections, NC State has a 83.8% chance of beating the Demon Deacons tomorrow night, and a 97.2% chance of defeating the Pirates.

The last time that NC State went undefeated at home was in 1986, posting a 6-0-1 record. That’s 32 years.

The last time the Wolfpack recorded a perfect record at home was in 1974, posting a 5-0 record. That’s 44 years.

The early 70’s were a glorious time to play football in Carter-Finley Stadium. They posted 3 straight undefeated seasons at home from 1972-74, and 2 consecutive perfect seasons at home the latter two years. The win streak began on 9/16/72 with a 43-20 victory over Syracuse, and ended on 9/13/1975 with a 22-30 loss to Wake Forest (16 games). NC State entered the final game of the winning streak ranked 13th, and Wake Forest was unranked. Sound familiar.

Undefeated Seasons at Carter-Finley Stadium

1986 6-0-1
1974 5-0
1973 5-0
1972 5-0-1
1967 4-0

A win tomorrow night against the Demon Deacons will bring the Wolfpack one game closer to becoming the 6th team in school history to go undefeated at home.
