Junior Wyatt Walker had 10 points and 3 rebounds in NC State’s 100-49 victory over UNC-Asheville tonight. He spoke with the media tonight after the game. The video is ABOVE, and a bulleted breakdown is BELOW.

  • I think we’re still learning to play with each other. Learning each others tendencies.
  • In practice there’s times that Devon Daniels goes off, and there’s nothing you can do about it. You can put a hand up, but it doesn’t matter. It was good to see him on a roll like that.
  • I may not be as fast as them (guards), but I can pass just like them. If I did get to play point guard, I might throw some dimes.
  • I was pretty upset about Markell (Johnson), because it was my guy that was screening him. I was yelling it real loud, and I saw it coming, but you never want to see that. He’s a tough kid. He’ll be back.
  • Keatts doesn’t mind if we make mistakes, as long as we make mistakes going hard. He always wants us in the passing lanes making deflections. We really compete in that, and were really aggressive tonight.
  • We try to make goals in certain segments on how many points we will give up, and sometimes we do so good off of the bat holding them to such a small score, we get to these goals that might be unrealistic. I don’t know if you can keep a team under 25 points for the whole game.
