Two NC State legends met in the backfield in Los Angeles yesterday as opponents. Former NC State Defensive End Bradley Chubb (Broncos Linebacker) sacked former Wolfpack quarterback Philip Rivers (Chargers QB) at the end of the 1st half.

He finished the game with 7 tackles (career high), 1 sack, 2 tackles for loss, and 2 QB hurries.

Chubb has now recorded a sack in 5 straight games, and ranks 9th in the NFL with 9 sacks through 11 weeks.

Chubb is 6 sacks away from breaking the rookie sack record set by Jevon Kearse in 1999.

NFL Rookie Sack Record

1) Jevon Kearse – 14.5 – 1999
2)Dwight Freeny – 13 – 2002
3) Leslie O’Neal – 12.5 – 1986
3)Simeon Rice – 12.5 – 1996

He is quickly approaching the Bronco’s rookie sack record of 11.5, set by Von Miller in 2011.
