Putting NC State’s 2018 All-ACC Selections in Perspective

The official 2018 Football All-ACC Teams were announced yesterday, and NC State led the conference with 6 players selected to the 1st team, which is the 2nd most in school history, and the most since 1992.

Redshirt Graduate Senior Ryan Finley became the 1st quarterback to earn 1st team honors at NC State since Russell Wilson did it in 2008. Finley is one of only seven NC State signal callers to make the 1st Team.

For the 1st time in ACC history, 2 wide receivers from the same team earned 1st Team honors: Junior Kelvin Harmon and Redshirt Junior Jakobi Meyers. The last NC State wide receiver to earn 1st Team honors was Jerricho Cothcery in 2003. Harmon and Meyers are the 10th and 11th Wolfpack wide receivers to make the 1st Team.

Redshirt Graduate Senior Germaine Pratt is the first linebacker to earn 1st Team honors since Nate Irving in 2010. Pratt is the 14th Wolfpack linebacker to make the 1st Team.

Redshirt Graduate Center Garrett Bradbury and Redshirt Senior Offensive Tackle Tyler Jones are only the 2nd and 3rd Wolfpack O-Lineman to earn 1st Team honors since the turn of the century. The last NC State O-Lineman to make the 1st Team was Sean Locklear in 2003.

Freshman Chris Dunn earned 2nd Team honors, and is the first Place Kicker to make an All-ACC Team since Marc Primanti in 1996. Dunn is the 8th Place Kicker in school history to make an All-ACC Team.
