3-Star Quarterback Ty Evans has officially signed his letter of intent to play football at NC State.

Evans originally committed to Arkansas on July 18th of last year, but then decommitted on December 13th after Bret Bielema was fired as the Razorbacks head coach. It’s worth noting that NC State offered Evans on the day he decommitted from Arkansas.

One month later, Evans committed to Colorado on January 15th.

In what have must felt like deja vu, Colorado head coach Mike MacIntyre was fired on November 18th, and most importantly, quarterbacks coach Kurt Roper didn’t stay in Boulder.

Then on December 10th, Evans decommitted from Colorado, and verbally committed to NC State on the same day. Ironically (or not ironically), Roper was just hired as NC State’s new quarterbacks coach.

Evans led Palmer Ridge to 2 consecutive 3A state championships, and was the Gatorade Player of the Year in Colorado as a Junior. He also was one of the 12 quarterbacks that made it to the prestigious Elite 11 Camp this summer. As a Senior, Evans threw for 2,665 yards and 33 touchdowns (14 interceptions). He also rushed for 355 yards and 11 touchdowns.

247Sports ranks Evans as the #11 Pro Style Quarterback in the 2019 class, and Rivals ranks him as the #1 player in the state of Colorado. He chose to run with the Wolfpack over offers from Alabama, Michigan, Texas A&M, South Carolina, Ole Miss and others.
