Dave Doeren Tied For Most Consecutive Bowls in NC State History

NC State will play #19 Texas A&M in the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl next Monday, December 31, at 7:30pm, marking the 5th consecutive year the Wolfpack have gone to a bowl game.

The 5-year bowl streak is the 2nd longest in school history, trailing behind 7 years of consecutive bowl games between 1988-1994. During that 7-year span, NC State had 2 different head coaches at the helm (Dick Sheridan & Mike O’Cain).

Dave Doeren is tied with Dick Sheridan for the longest bowl streak by a head coach in school history. Sheridan was 2-3 during his streak, and Doreen is currently 3-1.

1989 – Copper Bowl – Arizona – 17-10 (L)
1990 – All-American Bowl – Southern Miss – 31-27 (W)
