Debbie Yow Gives NC State Fan Gator Bowl Tickets on Twitter
UPDATE: Yow had to rescind her offer of the Gator Bowl tickets due to NCAA rules, but is inviting the young Wolfpack fan tobher office for a meeting.
Well, turns out there is an NCAA rule that disallows reduced price tickets to high schoolers and Annabelle is 17/in hs. Her Dad and I spoke this AM. He understands. The rule makes sense from a recruiting perspective. People could gain favor w a particular hs by giving tixs.

In this case, I should have done what I encourage others to do…contact our compliance office. Annabelle will be coming over to my office at my invitation, so we will still meet. Looking forward to that. #Packfamily

NC State Athletic Director Debbie Yow was in the Christmas spirit yesterday.
A Wolfpack fan that goes by the Twitter handle @_annabelle_ unwrapped a NC State Gator Bowl T-Shirt yesterday morning that led her to tears. The tears were joyous because of her deep love for the Pack, and mournful because she wouldn’t be able to wear the shirt at the actual game.
i actually cried when i opened up the shirt even though i knew i was getting it.
ps. i couldn’t get tickets for the bowl game and im highly upset:( pic.twitter.com/Ejg7JtMW95— annabelle🤩 (@_aannabelle_) December 25, 2018
55 minutes later, Debbie Yow cryptically tweeted the following, thinking she was responding to Annabelle. 36 minutes after that, Annabelle took a stab at seeing if Yow’s tweet was directed at her by chance.
Roughly two hours later, Yow responded, generously offering the die hard fan tickets to the Gator Bowl.
@_aannabelle_, yes it was meant for u. If u would like to attend the bowl, I can make that happen. Seems like it means a lot to u and parents cannot always afford expensive gifts. Email me at dayow@ncsu.edu if you are interested and we will work out the details.

Yow replied later in the above thread that they were thinking of making this an annual Christmas tradition.
Please don’t retire Dr. Yow.
