Russell Wilson Played Like a MVP in Week 16

This past Sunday night it was a showdown between MVP favorite Patrick Mahomes and Russell Wilson, and the former NC State quarterback out shined the young gun, in the Seahawks 38-31 victory over the Chiefs.

Seattle clinched a Wild Card playoff birth, after missing out on the postseason last year. Since entering the NFL, Wilson has led the Seahawks to the playoffs in 6 of his 7 seasons.

On Sunday, Wilson was 18 of 29 for 271 yards and 3 touchdowns (0 interceptions). He also rushed for 57 yards on 8 carries.

Wilson is quietly having a MVP caliber season, ranking 3rd in QB rating (112.7 – behind Drew Brees and Mahomes) and 3rd in touchdown passes (34 – behind Mahomes and Andrew Luck).

What’s most impressive about Wilson’s touchdown total, is the fact that he’s only thrown the ball 406 attempts. To put that stat in perspective:

Wilson has now led the Seahawks to a winning record in his first 7 seasons, making him the ONLY quarterback in NFL history to do so.

Oh yeah, Russell has only thrown 6 interceptions.
