Redshirt junior wide receiver Jakobi Meyers, who set the Wolfpack single season receptions record in 2018, has decided to forego his final year of eligibility and enter his name in the 2019 NFL draft. Meyers had 92 catches this season, the 10th-best mark in ACC history.

“I came to NC State a kid chasing two dreams,” said Meyers, who earned his degree in sports management with a minor in business administration last month. “I’m leaving a man with one dream fulfilled and hopefully another on the way. I would like to thank Coach Doeren, Coach McDonald, my teammates and all the staff here at NC State for helping me get to this position.”

The Lithonia, Ga., native came to NC State as a quarterback, redshirting the 2015 season at that position before moving to wideout just a week before the 2016 opener. He finishes his career with 168 total receptions – the No. 5 mark in school history.

“It has been a joy to coach Jakobi and watch him mature as a player and a person,” said head coach Dave Doeren. “We wish him the best and know that he will always be a part of the Wolfpack family.”
