NC State Off to Best Start Since 1974 National Championship, 6th 13-1 Start

NC State persevered down in Miami tonight, defeating the Hurricanes 87-82 in their ACC opener, improving to 13-1 on the year.

Only 6 Wolfpack teams have started a season with a 13-1 record, and the last team to do it won the National Championship in 1974.

The 13-1 start is the 6th best in school history.

1950-51 – 15-1 (Southern Conference Champions)

Not sure if you noticed, but every NC State team that has started the year 13-1, went on to win their conference championship.
