USC LB & 4-Star Prospect Levi Jones Transfers to NC State

USC Linebacker, and former 4-star prospect Levi Jones, has officially transferred to NC State.

This was already reported earlier in one of our Football Recruiting Updates, but it is official now, with Jones appearing on the roster over at GoPack.com.

Jones was one of the best players in the 2017 recruiting class. He was a consensus 4-star prospect, and the #65 overall prospect nationally according to ESPN. Rivals ranked him as the #10 player in the state of Texas, which is saying a lot.

Jones was named a 1st Team All-American by USAToday, MaxPreps and Under Armour.

Ultimately, Jones chose USC over FSU.

Jones recorded 15 tackles as a True Freshman, playing in 10 games.

This year, Jones was the 2nd highest graded Linebacker on USC’s roster through the first 8 games in a reserve role, picking up 13 tackles, 3 tackles for loss, and 3 pass deflections.

After the 8th game, Jones was dismissed from the team after being arrested on July 8th for public intoxication.

I’m assuming he will redshirt next season, and have two years of eligibility at NC State.

Jones has two brothers that are currently wide receivers in the NFL: Cayleb Jones (Vikings) and Zay Jones (Bills). His Father Robert Jones played linebacker at ECU, when Dave Huxtable was the Linebackers and Special Teams coach in Greenville. He went on to play in the NFL, and won a Super Bowl.
