• During a timeout with about a minute to go, we told each other to stay solid. We were still in the game. That’s one thing we always believe…that we can win the game. We stayed together and rallied back.
• Coach didn’t draw up the final play. It was just something that we kind of worked out between us as players.
• As soon as it left my hand I knew I made it. As long as I beat the buzzer. When I heard the buzzer, I knew it was good.
• Incredible. You saw the bench pile on me after the game. It’s incredible to get that kind of support from your teammates.
• I was probably 2 or 3 when I first started pretending making game-winners.
• It feels great. We were tired. We knew it was going to be tough with such a quick turnaround. We battled through. We’ve got a lot of tough guys on this team. We stay together. Have each others back.
• We have another short turnaround with Virginia. Have to make sure we get our rest in. Get back in the gym. Virginia has a really good team. We need to get back, watch film from this game, and move on.
• It’s great having Markell back. Makes our jobs a lot easier. Having one of the best players in the country back. He’s still getting his legs under him. He’ll keep progressing. We’re excited to have him back.
• Our main objective every game…the first thing we always worry about is defense. You’re going to have nights where your offense isn’t hitting shots.
