NC State set to Play Clemson in ACC Tournament

With NC State’s loss to Georgia Tech on Wednesday, the Wolfpack are set to play Clemson at Noon on Day 2 of the ACC Tournament.

The game will be the 8/9 game, and it is yet determined whether NC State will be the #8 or #9 seed, but the Tigers will be their opponent regardless.

  • If NC State beats Boston College on Saturday, and Clemson loses to Syracuse, the Wolfpack will be the #8 seed.
  • If NC State beats Boston College on Saturday, and Clemson beats Syracuse, the Wolfpack will be the #8 seed.
  • If NC State loses to Boston College on Saturday, and Clemson loses to Syracuse, the Wolfpack will be the #8 seed.
  • If NC State loses to Boston College on Saturday, and Clemson defeats Syracuse, the Wolfpack will be the #9 seed.
  • NC State beat Clemson 69-67 back on January 26th via a buzzer-beating three-pointer from Braxton Beverly. The Wolfpack was a 5-point favorite entering the contest.

If NC State beats Clemson, they will have to play the #1 seed in the ACC Tournament, which is most likely going to be Virginia, who controls their own destiny. If UVA beats Louisville, they will be the #1 seed.

Next Wednesday’s game between the Wolfpack and the Tigers will likely determine the NCAA Tournament fate of both teams.
